Frequently Asked Questions

Q: “How do I become a CCS Major or Minor or declare a Second Major?

A: “Go to the CCS department office at AL 348 and ask for a Declaration or Change of Undergraduate Major and Minor form. Take it to the Undergraduate Advisor and have her help you fill it out and sign it. Afterwards, submit the form to the Registrar’s Office.”

Q: “Can I take CCS 110 at a community college to fulfill the requirement for the CCS Major at SDSU?”

A: “Yes, you can take any lower division course such as CCS 110, 141A or 141B at a community college as long as that college has an articulation agreement for the course with SDSU. This ensures that you will receive credit at SDSU for the course taken at a community college. If you are not sure if a community college course articulates with an SDSU course check with their student advising services. They should have a list of the courses that articulate with SDSU courses.”

Q: “I’m a CCS Major with a Social Science Emphasis, but last semester I enrolled in CCS 310: Mexican and Chicano Music which falls under the CCS Humanities Emphasis. What can I do to make sure this course will count as one of the upper division CCS courses to complete my major requirements?”

A: “Go to the CCS department office at AL 348 and ask for a Request for Adjustment of Academic Requirement (RAAR) form. Take it to the Undergraduate Advisor and have her help you fill it out and sign it. Afterwards, submit the form to the Enrollment Services, Academic Advising Center SSW 1551.”
